Defending LHSLL State Champion Jesuit will begin the defense of their title on Saturday when they host the Lafayette Hurricanes at Clark Field in New Orleans. Faceoff is scheduled for 11am. The Bluejays, under direction of new head coach Stephen Krobert, are loaded with talent and look to continue their current winning streak of 19 consecutive wins. Their last loss was in April 2013.

The Hurricanes (0-1) lost their season opener 11-3 last week to St. Thomas More and will need to get their offense going to keep up with the high powered ‘Jays who are led by attackmen Max Murret and Cameron Guernsey on offense along with long poles Paul Stapp and Gray Cressy on defense. A pair of All State midfielders in Garrett Perez and FOGO Billy McMahon return for their senior seasons.

St. Thomas More (1-0) is hosting the Brother Martin Crusaders (0-0) on Saturday at Cougar Stadium. Faceoff is scheduled for 5pm. The Cougars defeated Lafayette 11-3 last week behind three goals and one assist each from Lance Domingue and Ben Larriviere.

The Dutchtown Griffins (1-0), coming off a season opening 11-5 win against North Shore, will look to continue their winning ways as they travel to Covington to meet the St. Paul’s Wolves. Faceoff time is scheduled for 6pm at Hunter Stadium however game time may be pushed slightly pending conclusion of a soccer game scheduled earlier in the day.

In other LHSLL action, the Catholic Bears are hosting the Loyola Flyers in a scrimmage at Hartley/Vey Park at Gardere in Baton Rouge. Faceoff is scheduled for 1pm.

In Louisiana youth lacrosse action, the North Shore Spartans are hosting the Christian Brothers Falcons, Baton Rouge Mustangs, Christ Episcopal Wildcats, and Carrollton at the Covington Youth Soccer Fields. Click here for schedule info.
